Under New Ownership!
Benjamin & Heather Swanson purchased The Pines on June 1st 2017, and are pleased to be involved with the continuation of this longstanding Long Pine business. Both are Nebraska natives. Ben is local to the area, and Heather is from south central NE. They now call The Pines home.
Ben grew up in the area on a ranch, and graduated from Springview in Keya Paha County. He served in the Army, and has an adventuresome spirit and is well traveled. He is a diesel mechanic and welder, and his work history includes construction, disaster relief, off-shore, and tree and fireline work.
He met and married Heather Swanson (yes maiden and married names are the same) in 2014, and convinced her to return full-time to Nebraska from southern Texas in 2016.
Heather grew up on a farm about 30 miles south of Kearney, and graduated high school from Wilcox. She attended undergrad at UNL and completed nursing school at UNMC's Lincoln campus, as well as graduate school at UNM (Albuquerque) and UNMC-Scottsbluff, with her doctorate work from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky. She is a Certified Nurse-Midwife, Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Lactation Consultant. Heather currently works clinically in Rosebud, SD and teaches online for Grand Canyon University. Though her work in Rosebud is considered full-time, it is on a rotation, which allows her significant time to be at home at The Pines.
